I was invited last year by Shoreline Community College to teach a course about Children’s Book Publishing. I didn’t have the time to commit to a semester class, but I agreed to design a one-day course to help aspiring authors.
I devoted more than 80 hours of prep time to do my best to compress what had taken me three years to learn into eight hours.

My students were wonderful, and at least one of them went on to publish. It was very gratifying.

Since then I revamped, revised, and redesigned and augmented to create a new 12-week online course that includes
several one-on-one meetings.
I’m proud of the result.

Kids need quality books.
